The lawsuit ended with a settlement, leading to the strain being renamed to GG4 to avoid further legal issues.

The creation of Gorilla Glue was a happy accident. Grower Whales noticed that some of his plants had turned hermaphroditic and accidentally pollinated his other plants. The result of this unintended cross was an extremely potent plant, named Gorilla Glue due to its sticky resin production that would gum up scissors during trimming.
